It seems like everyone is telling you to start a Facebook page for your business, including the ME Gaming team! 2.7 billion people use Facebook every month. You’re missing out on an opportunity to access these users if you don’t have a Facebook page for your business. Are you not sure where to start? Luckily for you, we are here to walk you through the process of creating a Facebook page dedicated to your business.

1. Create your Facebook business page.

The first step in creating a Facebook business page is to make sure you’re setting up the right type of account. Remember that you are creating a Facebook page, not a Facebook profile. A profile is a personal Facebook account that’s designed to share personal information and photos with friends and family. Pages are public spaces that let businesses and public figures connect with fans and customers. Facebook users only have to like a page to start seeing updates from the page on their newsfeed. Go to facebook.com/business/pages/set-up to get started.

2. Answer Facebook’s questions.

To create a Facebook page, you must have a personal profile and follow Facebook’s on-screen instructions. When you’re creating a page, Facebook will ask for some information, such as a category to describe your page, your business’s name, address, and phone number. It’s important to include as much information as possible so customers can easily recognize your page and find information about your business.

3. Add profile and cover photos.

Photos are key when it comes to social media. One of the first things you will need to do is add a profile picture. This will be the photo that all of your followers will recognize. We recommend using your businesses logo so that your customers can find you easily. But don’t stop there! Feel free to post photos on your timeline or in albums. If you serve food, adding photos of your specials is a great way to get people’s mouths watering.

4. Gain Followers

The next step is to get some followers. The easiest way to do this is to just ask your current customers to follow your new Facebook page. You can do this by asking them verbally when they come into your business, by creating a sign or poster to invite them to like your page, or by offering an incentive for people to follow you. For example: “Come in on November 10th and show us that you follow our Facebook page in order to be entered to win a free meal.”

5. Engage

The final step of getting your Facebook page off the ground is to engage with your followers. Be sure to make regular posts about topics that are relevant to your audience. Examples include photos of your weekly special, promotions, reminders of the curbside pickup options you offer, new games added to your establishment and more. The possibilities are endless.

And just like that, you have a Facebook business page! It wasn’t so hard, was it?!
